‘Aate hi kaam start kar diye’ – Fans react as South Africa cricket team start practice session in Kerala ahead of ODI World Cup 2023

The South Africa cricket team is gearing up for the upcoming ODI World Cup in Kerala, where they are set to play their two warm-up fixtures commencing from September 29 to October 3. Notably, the image of Proteas skipper Temba Bavuma practising in the nets has gone viral on social media, which suggests they are practising hard to win the upcoming marquee event.

Notably, South Africa had recently defeated the Australian team by 3-2 in the five matches of the ODI series on their home soil. In addition, Australia won the first two ODIs, but the home team held their nerves to win the last three ODIs to win the series. However, it’s noteworthy that the South African cricket team hasn’t won the ODI World Cup so far, but this time they have a great chance to win the tournament.

Meanwhile, Kerala Cricket Association officials have made all arrangements for them to start their practice. The secretary affirms that the new lights have been installed, along with a new dressing room for the players. In addition, they further informed that they are leaving no stone unturned as six cricket teams will set out to play in Kerala, and they are trying very hard to provide the best facilities during warm-up games.

The dressing rooms at the stadium have been refurbished: KCA

“We have installed floodlights at the net facility near the Greenfield stadium. The dressing rooms at the stadium have been refurbished. We have also replaced some of the damaged seats in the stadium. This is the first time the state will be hosting six top cricket teams at a single venue. So we are leaving no stone unturned in our preparations and are hoping to give the visiting teams the best of facilities for the warm-up matches,” said KCA secretary Vinod S Kumar.
