‘Bas esko lekar aana tha kisi tarah’ – Fans react as Marnus Labuschagne set to replace Ashton Agar in ODI World Cup 2023 squad

The Australia team has finally ended their five-match losing streak as they registered a great win in the third ODI against India on September 27 at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Notably, the Pat Cummins-led side is gearing up for the ODI World Cup 2023. However, they have suffered the biggest blow, as some reports suggest that star all-rounder Ashton Agar has been ruled out of the squad.

According to sources, star batter Marnus Labuschagne will replace Ashton Agar, as the latter has not recovered from the injury he sustained during the T20I series against the Proteas. In addition, star middle-order batter Travis Head, who sustained injuries during the ODI series against South Africa, is set to make his way into the big tournament.

It is noteworthy that Marnus Labuschagne is all set to add to the ODI World Cup squad owing to his stellar performances in the recently concluded South Africa series as well as his top-class display during the third ODI against India, which saved them from their first-ever whitewash against the Men in Blue.

Marnus Labuschagne is always ringing in my head, 24 hours: Pat Cummins

Meanwhile, Australia’s skipper, Pat Cummins, also accepted that Marnus performance had grabbed his attention owing to his flabbergasting display. In addition, the star pacer admitted that he was the best batter during the recently concluded South Africa tour, which allowed him to get chances in all three ODIs against India.

“Marnus is always ringing in my head, 24 hours. He was our best batter in South Africa. Not only batting-wise, his intent was excellent there in South Africa. I am sure he will get his chance in three games and push for his spot,” Pat Cummins said before the India series.
