‘Tamim Iqbal ko manane gya h’ – Fans react as Shakib-Al-Hasan returns to Bangladesh in middle of ODI World Cup 2023
Bangladesh skipper Shakib-Al-Hasan returned to his country on October 25, in the middle of the ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, Bangladesh are currently at the bottom of the points table as they have suffered four straight losses after a win against Afghanistan in their opening game of the ODI World Cup 2023. Bangladesh will be next seen in action on October 28, where they will be taking the Netherlands before taking Babar Azam and Co. on October 31.
Notably, the 36-year-old cricketer flew to his country after his crushing defeat against South Africa. The great all-rounder went directly to the Sheer Bangla National Stadium for a workout with his mentor Nazmul Abedeen Faheem. Meanwhile, the left-handed batsman only managed to rack up 56 runs in four innings in the ODI World Cup 2023, owing to his poor hitting performance. Moreover, the left-arm spinner grabbed six wickets so far in the marquee event.
Meanwhile, Shakib-Al-Hasan’s mentor, Nazmul Abedeen Faheem, also confirmed that the star cricketer has arrived on October 25, where he will be training with his mentor for three days before locking horns against the Dutch team in Kolkata. In addition, the coach reveals that they are trying hard to work on his batting. Faheem is taking the sessions, according to Bangladesh’s skipper.
Shakib-Al-Hasan is expected to join the Bangladesh team on October 27
“He arrived today. We will be training for three days. Today, tomorrow and the day after, and then he will return to Kolkata. We worked on his batting today,” Nazmul Abedeen Faheem was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.
“Shakib probably feels comfortable working this way. I am not sure what we are going to do next – I will take each session as he wants,” he added further.
Meanwhile, Shakib-Al-Hasan is expected to join the team on October 27, just before their ODI World Cup 2023 match against the Netherlands. In addition, two teams from the bottom of the rankings will play each other in order to see who will move on further in the competition. Meanwhile, after five matches, the two teams have only won one game.
