‘Mai bhoolna chahta hoon magar log bhoolne nahi dete’ – KL Rahul recalls tough times upon returning to Lucknow’s stadium after IPL 2023

Team India is all set to lock horns against the defending champions for their sixth ODI World Cup 2023 clash at the Ekana Sports Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Notably, the Men in Blue currently are in the second spot after their straight five out of five wins in the ODI World Cup 2023, while England will be facing hosts in their do-or-die clash of the marquee event.

However, India’s star batsman, KL Rahul, was asked about the guilt he had for not finishing the IPL 2023 at his home ground. Notably, the LSG skipper had missed over half of the IPL 2023 owing to injuries he sustained against the RCB clash, and the side was further led by all-rounder Krunal Pandya. The wicketkeeper-batsman was a little disappointed with the injury he sustained, which kept him out for 4-5 months. In addition, the stylish right-handed batsman feels it is very hard for players to make a comeback in the game after an injury, as it takes a lot of patience as well as hard work.

“Yes, I am a little sad about that, but the injury that I had, kept me out of the game for 4-5 months. That was a tough time. Whoever has an injury, if you ask anyone – they undergo surgery and to come back, it takes a lot of hard work, and a lot of patience and you have to go through that which is not very easy,” KL Rahul said.

I can make some better and happier memories to forget all of that: KL Rahul

Meanwhile, the great middle-order batsman was talking about his memories of IPL 2023 as he was going through his lean patch. The star batsman reveals that he wanted to forget all those times, but people keep reminding him of his poor form for LSG in the IPL 2023. Moreover, the Karnataka-born cricketer is hopeful to create some great memories on the same ground when India will be facing England in their next clash.

“Mai bhoolna chahta hoon magar log bhoolne nahi dete (I want to forget it but people keep reminding me). Hopefully, I can put that aside and I can make some better and happier memories to forget all of that,” he added further.
