‘Aur karo dosti yaari’ – Fans react as Harbhajan Singh slams Inzamam-ul-Haq’s comments about his conversion to Islam

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has slammed former Pakistan cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq for his baseless allegations against him. Notably, the former Pakistan cricketer revealed that few Indian cricket players have joined them in offering their prayers while revealing that they never used to sing with them but listen to them every time. Inzamam-ul-Haq also revealed the names of Indian cricketers who have joined them to listen to Maulana (Muslim prayers).

However, the 53-year-old cricketer revealed that 2011 ODI World Cupwinning star Harbhajan Singh was very keen to convert his Hindu religion to an Islamic religion after listening to Muslim prayers. Moreover, the former PCB chief selector also makes a few irrelevant allegations about Harbhajan Singh in the given video.

“Maulana Tariq Jameel used to visit us everyday. We had a room for Namaz. Following the prayers, he would talk to us. After a day or two, we invited Irfan Pathan, Zaheer Khan, and Mohammad Kaif for prayers. I noticed that 2-3 more Indian players also used to join; they won’t say the prayers but used to listen to the Maulana,” Inzamam-ul-Haq said.

I am a proud Indian and proud Sikh: Inzamam-ul-Haq

“Harbhajan once told me, ‘my heart says that I should agree to whatever he (Maulana) says’. I said, ‘then follow him. What is stopping you?’ Then, he replied, ‘I see you and then I stop. Your life isn’t like that’. So, it is us who are not following our religion. We are to be blamed,” he further said.

Harbhajan Singh, responding to these claims, took to Twitter to express his displeasure. The well-renowned cricket commentator dismissed all the allegations, clarified that he is a proud Indian and Sikh, and lashed out at the former Pakistan star for his false claims. In a rather explosive tweet, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh wrote, “Yeh kon sa nasha pee kar baat kar raha hai? I am a proud Indian and proud Sikh. Yeh Bakwaas log kuch bi bakte hai (What was he drinking before speaking such nonsense?”
