‘Tu video game khel raha hai kya?’- Suryakumar Yadav reveals Virat Kohli’s heart-melting praise for him on cricket pitch

There is no denying the fact that Suryakumar Yadav is India’s new batting maestro in the shortest format of the game. The 32-year-old has left every cricket fan in awe with his masterclass batting this year. He wrote his name in the history books after scoring more than 1000 runs in a calendar year. He has the most runs in the 20-20 format in the year 2022.

In 31 matches, Yadav has managed to score 1164 runs at an average of 46.56. Those runs have come at an outstanding strike rate of 187.43- something which tells you how destructive he has been with the bat in the shortest format.

Former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli has also been mighty impressed with Yadav’s batting exploits. The former took to his social media handle to praise the Mumbai batter on a few occasions. Recently, Yadav revealed an ‘out of the world’ statement that Kohli said to Yadav, while the duo was on the pitch playing together.

“Once I was batting with Virat (Kohli) bhai, and he came and told me “tu video game khel raha hai kya? Alag chal raha hai tera bhi (Are you playing video games? You are at a different level).” It felt nice to hear these things,” he revealed during an interview with Indian Express.

“Rohit (Sharma) is the only one who has seen me for a very long time. But this season, he saw so many knocks that a time came when he didn’t tell me anything. In a few games, he said ‘mujhe ab kuchh bolna nahi abhi tere baare mein (Now I don’t have anything to say about you)’,” he added.

Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav have scored the most runs together by any pair in the shortest format this year. In 11 innings, they scored 535 runs together, including two hundred-run partnerships and as many half-century partnerships.
