Brad Hogg explains why RCB’s signing of Cameron Green is a mistake ahead of IPL

Former Australia cricketer Brad Hogg calls Cameron Green’s trade to RCB a bad move, while Hardik Pandya’s trade is a great move for the IPL 2024. Notably, Cameron Green, who was brought into MI camp for 17.5 crores in the IPL 2023, has been traded to RCB. However, Hardik Pandya, who led the Gujarat Titans for two seasons, is back in his old franchise and will serve as Rohit’s deputy in IPL 2024.

The former Australian cricketer, Brad Hogg, feels it is not worthy to buy Cameron Green for such a substantial amount. In addition, the 52-year-old cricketer calls this a poor choice for RCB. The legendary cricketer affirmed that RCB always spends a massive amount on their batting line-up and then has very little cash to spend on the bowlers. Moreover, the former left-arm spinner feels RCB should buy bowlers who can defend the total during the game.

The 52-year-old cricketer feels Hardik Pandya’s trade is beneficial for the Mumbai Indians. Furthermore, the former great all-rounder affirms that RCB might be looking to spend on all-rounders for the upcoming IPL edition.

Nothing against Cameron Green’s talent: Brad Hogg

“Is he worth it? RCB, I am looking at their line-up. I think this is a poor choice. Nothing against Green’s talent. He was good for Mumbai Indians last year. But if you look at RCB’s list, they spend big on their batting line-up. They don’t have enough cash there to spend on enough quality bowlers. If you want to win the IPL, you need quality bowlers to defend totals and set the games up,” Brad Hogg said in a video on his Instagram handle.

“Mumbai Indians, they threw Cameron Green out there for a little bit of trade bait, trying to free up some cash to get Hardik Pandya into their squad. It worked a treat. RCB couldn’t resist. They swooped in there, not wanting Green to go back into the auction thinking they might have had a little bit more to pay for the all-rounder,” he added further.
