‘No better way to silence it than to put runs…….’ – David Warner opens up after silencing critics with his Test century against Pakistan

Australia’s star cricketer David Warner slammed the epic century during the first Test game against Pakistan on December 14 in Perth. Notably, the left-handed batter is playing his farewell Test magnificently well against the Men in Green. The southpaw hammered 161 runs from 211 balls, featuring 16 boundaries and four sixes, to put his side into a strong position at the end of Day 1. Australia team is at 346/5 at the end of Day 1, and they will be looking to post over 450 runs after their first inning.

The 37-year-old cricketer spoke about the game after hammering his 26th Test tonne on Thursday. In addition, the top-order batter revealed that it was his plan to lead his side and to put pressure on Pakistan bowlers, who are currently sitting at the top of the WTC cycle.

“It is my job to come out here and score runs and that was from the get-go to put pressure on the Pakistan bowlers. I got a couple of partnerships going, first with Uzzie (Khawaja) and then with Smudge (Smith). It’s just another Test match hundred for Australia and it is something that we try our best to do when we walk out there,” David Warner told Adam Gilchrist in an interview after the second session.

Meanwhile, the star cricketer finally breaks silence on the critics and affirms that there is no better way to score runs on the boards to answer your critics. Moreover, the opening batter is hopeful of guiding their side to a great win over Pakistan.

“It feels great, there is a lot of runs out there to be put on the board for the bowlers to bowl at. There is always going to be criticism, and you gotta take that and no better way to silence it than to put runs on the board,” he added further.
