‘Ye kya hogya bhai jan’ – Fans react as Australia beat Pakistan by 8 wickets in 3rd Test, claim series by 3-0

The Australian cricket team won the third Test by 8 wickets and whitewashed the series against the Pakistan team at Sydney Cricket Ground on January 5. Notably, the Shan Masood-led Pakistan team failed to win a single Test game and suffered terrible defeats in the three matches of the Test series against Pat Cummins and Co.

Speaking about the third Test game, it was Pakistan skipper Shan Masood who won the toss and invited Australia to field first in the game. Notably, after being opted to bat first, they posted a great target of 313 runs in the first inning. However, the Men in Green restricted Australia to 299 runs in the first inning.

However, the Pakistan team failed to continue the winning momentum as they were all out for just 115 runs in the second inning, which puts the hosts in commanding position as they chased down the total on Day 4 of the third Test game. Notably, David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne smashed half-centuries and helped them win the game.

Don’t think I have to take too much credit for that: Pat Cummins

Meanwhile, Australia skipper Pat Cummins expressed his happiness for the great series win over Australia. The right-arm pacer was ecstatic to have a great start to the summer. In addition, the 30-year-old cricketer reflects on how tactically and practically they beat visiting sides despite the Men in Green posting a great total in the first inning.

“Really happy with how it’s all gone. Rhythm felt great the whole series. It was my turn this one to take a few wickets, which is great. Don’t think I have to take too much credit for that. Everything seemed to work this summer. A couple of moments where we fell right behind it, but one of the boys stepped up and found a way to get us back into the contest. It’s a great start to the summer so far. A good time to reflect on this series but also the year that’s been and obviously on Davey’s career,” Pat Cummins said in the post-match presentation.
