‘Padosiyo match haar gaye’ – Fans react as New Zealand beat Pakistan by 45 runs to claim unassailable lead of 3-0 in T20Is

New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 45 runs in the third T20I where he ended up claiming an unassailable lead of 3-0 in the series. The home side was all over the visiting side which was expected. They lived up to the expectations by beating Pakistan with comfort. The knock of Finn Allen and a brilliant bowling effort helped New Zealand to claim the match and the series.

Batting first, New Zealand were all over Pakistan, thanks to a sensational knock from Allen. The youngster batted like a champ and smashed the bowlers for fun. It was his day, and it has been his series throughout. In his middle stay, Finn scored 137 runs in 62 balls. The right-handed batter smashed all the bowlers for fun and sealed the game in style.

Harid Rauf had a forgettable day as he conceded 60 runs in his 4 overs. Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz were expensive as well. They conceded 43 and 44 runs respectively in just 4 overs. What seemed like a huge total in the making, turned out to be not so good, as New Zealand batters fell like a pack of cards after the dismissal of Allen, who had scored 137 out of 203 runs in his stay in the middle.

Pakistan falter in the run chase

Chasing the target, Pakistan never looked to be in the game. Right from the word go, they kept on losing the wickets. Saim Ayub scored 10(13). Mohammad Rizwan scored 24(20). Only Fakhar Zaman seemed to be batting with intent, as he scored 19 runs in 10 balls. At the other end, Babar Azam waged a lone war and helped Pakistan to stay alive in the match, which was not enough to win the match.

Azam Khan scored 10(7), and Iftikhar Ahmed scored 1(4). Only Nawaz assisted Babar in some way with his 28(15). But the match was pretty much done and dusted at that point. Tim Southee was brilliant for the home side as he claimed 2/29 in his 4 overs. Lockie Ferguson bowled out for 1/27 in his 4 overs.
