In the ongoing game between India and Afghanistan, India skipper Rohit Sharma has hit his fifth T20I hundred. In the first two games, he bagged ducks. Since then, he was yet to score a hundred in the shortest format, having not scored a T20 hundred since the 2012 season. With the bat, for the first time against the Afghans across all formats, they lost four wickets for 22 runs.

Fareed Ahmad, who played the first game of the series, took the wickets of Yashavi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, and Sanju Samson. On the other hand, Azmatullah Omarzai removed Shivam Dube to create more trouble.

Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh help India recover from 22/4 to 212/4

At 22/4, the likes of Singh and Sharma knew that they had one more recognized batter in the form of Washinton Sundar. During this, Sharma got his fifth T20I hundred and the highest individual score in the shortest format with 121 not out off 69 balls including 11 fours and eight sixes. On the other hand, Singh hit an unbeaten 69 off 39 balls including two fours and six sixes. With the partnership of an unbeaten 190 runs, the team made a record of highest partnership for the fifth wicket, beating Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya’s partnership in the T20 World Cup 2022 game against Pakistan.
