Watch: Ben Cutting grabs a stunner against Sydney Sixers in BBL 12, video goes viral
On 8 January 2023, Sydney Thunder took on Sydney Sixers in the ongoing Big Bash League. It was the 34th match of the ongoing tournament. Sydney Sixers were looking to strengthen their position at the top by winning this match. On the other hand, Sydney Thunder were looking to improve their position at the table.
However, Sydney Sixers won the match by seven wickets. Sean Abbott won the player of the match award for taking three wickets for nine runs. However, during Sydney Sixers’ innings, Ben Cutting took a spectacular catch. That video has now gone viral as fans loved it on social media platforms.

Ben Cutting scored 26* runs off 15 balls in the match
Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the third over. James Vince was batting for Sydney Sixers. Ben Doggett was bowling for the Thunders. On the second delivery of that over, Vince slashed the ball hard and he managed only a top edge. The ball flew to the deep point where Ben Cutting was.
Cutting ran around the rope and he threw himself high in the air to get there with both hands. After that, he rose to celebrate in front of the crowd. Thus, Vince went back to the dugout after scoring five runs off five balls. Speaking of the match, Sydney Sixers won the toss and elected to bowl first. While batting first, Sydney Thunder posted a total of 133 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Ben Cutting scored 26* runs off 15 balls, including five fours. He batted at a strike rate of 173.33.
In reply, Sydney Sixers managed to chase the target down in 16.2 overs. They won the match by seven wickets. Skipper Moises Henriques scored 53* runs off 38 balls, including six fours. Along with him, Jordan Silk scored 59* runs off 42 balls, including seven fours. Sean Abbot was outstanding with the ball as he took three wickets for just nine runs in four overs.
