Sourav Ganguly set to finalise script of his upcoming biopic, Ranbir Kapoor likely to play the lead role
The announcement of the former Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly’s biopic was made a long time ago. It is being produced by Luv Films. Discussions were going on for the last four-five years regarding his biopic, and now the script of this film has been written and prepared. Ganguly is going to finalize the script of his biopic film on 24 January. The ex-Indian Cricket Board president will be coming to Mumbai to finalize the story. He will hear the script and screenplay to lock it for the next stage.
As per reports, Ganguly will sit with the makers and writers of the film in Mumbai on Tuesday to confirm the script for further work. According to close sources, Ganguly does not want to rush the biopic at all. He wants everything to be done in a smooth manner so as to make it factually correct.
Dada’s story will be on the big screen very soon
Earlier in 2021, Ganguly took to Twitter and confirmed that a biopic is being made on him. He tweeted, “Cricket has been my life, it gave confidence and ability to walk forward with my head held high, a journey to be cherished. Thrilled that Luv Films will produce a biopic on my journey and bring it to life for the big screen.” To this, Luv Ranjan (Film Producer) replied, “It is more than an honour to have Dada in the Luv Films family! Thank you for making us a part of your life and letting us share it with the world.”
Before making a film on the life of Ganguly, biopics have also been made on players like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Mohammed Azharuddin, and Kapil Dev who were the captains of the Indian cricket team. There is no information about which actor is going to play the role of Ganguly in this biopic. Meanwhile, the budget for this film is expected to be around Rs 250 crore as per sources.
Ganguly has had a glorious career spanning several decades. He is credited with being one of the most successful captains of the Indian cricket team, and he also served a term as the Indian Cricket Board President.
