[Watch] Saud Shakeel’s controversial dismissal; Ball touches ground but Umpire gives it out

The fourth day of the 2^nd Test match between England and Pakistan is currently underway. At the end of the first session of play, the visitors looked in complete control and are on course to win the second Test match, and, thereby seal the series 2-nil.

England had picked four wickets for 198 runs while defending a 355-run target by the end of day 3. Faheem Ashraf and Shakeel looked to start cautiously but Root broke the partnership soon by accounting for the wicket of Ashraf (10) in the 70^th over.

Nawaz then joined hands with Shakeel and the duo stitched an 80-run partnership for the 6^th wicket. That partnership gave Pakistan big hopes of winning the Test match. But Mark Wood came to the team’s rescue. He dug one short only for Nawaz to get out caught-behind. The southpaw departed for a well-made 45 off 62 balls.

England looked happy but Shakeel was still there at the crease. However, the big turning point came in the 94^th over when Wood came back to bowl again. On the third ball of the over, Wood sent one short down leg side. Shakeel tried to pull it but gloved it only for the keeper to take the catch. The ball was dying on Pope and the English keeper got both hands on the ball but it did look like touching the ground.

However, the third umpire gave it out and with that, a fighting knock from Saud Shakeel came to an end. He got out after scoring 94 runs in 213 balls, a knock which was laced with 8 fours.

Since then, Pakistan have not lost any wicket. Their hero with the ball, Abrar Ahmed is currently unbeaten on 17 off 10 deliveries. He has hit four fours already and Pakistan are pinning hopes on him to win the match.

Babar Azam and Co. currently need 45 runs to win the match, while England need three wickets. At the time of writing, Pakistan have lost seven wickets for 309 runs on the board.
