MS Dhoni, the most successful captain in the history of Indian Cricket, might play his last season of the Indian T20 League this year, which is scheduled to start on 31st March 2023. He gave the captaincy duties to Ravindra Jadeja ahead of the start of the last season but took over midway through.
In the upcoming edition, the fans would want Dhoni to lead from the front right from the start and want him to end his career lifting the Indian T20 League title, once more. He might be 41 years old but the fans still crave his presence on the field, be it in a practice session or in a match.
On Monday, the fans were allowed to enter inside the MA Chidambaram stadium to watch their favourite Chennai star cricketers practice. MS Dhoni also attended the practice session alongside the likes of Deepak Chahar, Ben Stokes etc.
Meanwhile, a video clip of MS Dhoni walking into bat during a practice session amidst a loud cheer from the crowd has been doing the rounds on the internet. It was a replica of the exact moment from the 2019 edition of the tournament. You can watch the video clip here.

While, the former Indian skipper hasn’t yet confirmed that the upcoming season will be his last, pundits believe that the former would call it a day after Chennai’s last game, this year. Recently, former Indian opener, Aakash Chopra also talked about the same on his Youtube channel. Here’s what he said:
“The first thing is that this could be the last of Dhoni. So there is a slight emotional connect about how Dhoni and his team will do. Is this the last time we are seeing him on the field with a bat and gloves in hand?” asked Chopra in his video.
“Where will Dhoni play? During the SA20, RP Singh had asked a question whether Dhoni select himself as a player in the XI? He batted well last year but will it be similar this year as well? You never want to see your legend struggling. So that is one question that is looming large but Dhoni is larger than life,” he added.
