Former World Cup-winning skipper from England, Eoin Morgan asserted that the star India batter, Sanju Samson should play more international cricket considering his current form. The former southpaw recently applauded the right-hand batter when he batted brilliantly against Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday, April 2.

With three fours and four sixes, Samson scored 55 runs off 32 balls. Together with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler, the Rajasthan franchise skipper was one of three batters to score fifty runs. On the strength of his hitting, the Royals set a challenging 204-run target for the Orange Army to achieve, and the hosts lost the match by 72 runs.

“It’s hard to believe that he does not play more international cricket when he plays with ease and as well as this. The time he has and the power that he generates from shots of the backfoot like that are incredible,” Morgan was quoted as saying in Jio Cinema.

Morgan was surprised by Samson’s attack on Adil Rashid. Samson hammered Rashid for two sixes in the 11th and 16th overs, one past deep mid-wicket and the other through far off.

“They are not many people that play shots like that to Adil Rashid like that throughout the world. He is a difficult bowler to pick, let alone play and attack. What a way to start the tournament, Sanju Samson. Getting out of the blocks earlier, scoring runs early in the tournament, we have seen this before, can he maintain that? Only time will tell,” the 36-year-old stated.

The Rajasthan franchise will lock horns against the Punjab franchise next at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday, April 5, who also won their opening game against the Kolkata franchise by seven runs which was plyed on Saturday, April 1 at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.

Saddened by that statement. Should've been the primary replacement for Shreyas Iyer for home series against Australia in the ODIs. Especially after a phenomenal ODI series against South Africa where he was Not Out throughout the series. Yet not preferred against the Aussies.
