Jos Buttler, the opening batter of Rajasthan Royals (RR), sustained an injury to his finger in a game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Thursday in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He is expected to miss their upcoming IPL encounter against Delhi Capitals. At the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, during a game where they fell by 5 runs to PBKS, Buttler hurt his finger while taking a catch.

When the Englishman took a catch to get rid of PBKS batsman Shahrukh Khan, his little finger was hurt. During Punjab’s innings, Buttler required numerous stitches upon his little finger, which led Ravichandran Ashwin to begin batting for RR.

What did Sanju Samson talk about in the post-match press conference?

RR captain Sanju Samson acknowledged during the post-game press briefing that Buttler was not fit and had received stitches for a finger injury. With a strap on his little finger, Buttler also went to accept the trophy for the greatest catch. Sanju Samson spoke about the issue in the post-match press conference. He said, “Jos was not fit. He was getting stitches for his finger after the catch.”

Sanju Samson’s side lost to Punjab Kings by 5 runs in a close contest in the IPL. It was because of an epic performance from Shimron Hetmeyer and Dhruv Jorel that RR were able to be close to the total but faltered at the last stride.

Sam Curran, the marquee signing for the PBKS had an excellent game and was able to seal the deal for his side. He spoke about his performance in the post-match press conference. He said, “I think when it comes to those situations, you know if you nail your yorker, you’ll be okay. Some days it works and some days it won’t but luckily it was our day.”

He further added, “It’s amazingly hard. You try to train by dipping balls in water. It’s incredibly hard to hold the seam. You try to bowl cross seam but it’s not a natural ball to bowl a yorker cross seam. It’s extremely tough but everyone has to do it so there’s no real complaining.”
