‘He seems to have inherited that’ – Former India skipper heaps praise on Arjun Tendulkar for his bowling performance against SRH

In the 25th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 14 runs. Riding on an amazing all-round performance from Cameron Green, MI clinched their third consecutive victory of the season. In the last over skipper, Rohit Sharma asked youngster Arjun Tendulkar to defend 20 runs and the left-arm pacer did his job brilliantly.

Tendulkar also dismissed Bhuvneshwar Kumar to name his maiden wicket in the IPL. Despite having a mediocre pace Tendulkar has impressed former cricketers and fans with his accurate Yorkers. Now praising him for his amazing display of bowling former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar has pointed out some similarities between Jr and Senior Tendulkar.

While speaking with Star Sports he said, “Everybody talks about the amazing talent Sachin Tendulkar had at the start of his career. But it was his temperament that was amazing, and Arjun seems to have inherited that. He seems to be a shrewd thinker as well. It’s always a good sign when a youngster is bowling the final over for the team and delivering.”

Young players are standing up for MI: Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch, the former Australia skipper, joined the broadcast and talked about the Mumbai Indians’ emerging stars. He says that Arjun Tendulkar, along with youthful players Hrithik Shokeen and Cameron Green, more than filled in for injured Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer to help MI win their third straight game.

While speaking with Star Sports Finch says, “The youth are standing up for the Mumbai Indians in the absence of superstars like Jasprit Bumrah and Jofar Archer. The team was missing the big guns badly in the first couple of games but these young kids have taken it upon themselves to deliver now.”

Notably, MI has now won three consecutive matches in the ongoing season and will be keen to continue its dominance. They will now head to Mumbai for their next assignment against Punjab Kings on Saturday.
