‘Kyunki unhe burnol lagane se fursat nhi hai na’ – Fans react as former MI player makes cheeky remark after Mumbai beat SRH in IPL 2023
In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Mumbai Indians (MI) made a strong comeback after losing the first two games of the season. After losing to RCB and CSK Rohit Sharma led MI and bounced back to beat DC, KKR and SRH in the next three games. These victories were more important for the as they are playing without Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer. Notably, the team faced a lot of criticism after facing defeats in the first two games and was written off by some experts.
Meanwhile, former MI player Mitchell McClenaghan slammed critics with a cheeky remark after Mumbai thrashed SRH in their backyard. McClenaghan took the Twitter and said, “Twitter pretty quiet – is a certain team winning?” Notably, the left-hand Kiwi pacer has been an integral part of Mumbai Indians. He has won four IPL trophies for them and was part of MI from 2015-2020.
McClenaghan has played 56 matches in his IPL career and has clinched 71 wickets in it. Although, this is not the first time when McClenaghan took to Twitter to slam critics. He often defends MI with his cheeky remarks. Recently he indulged in banter with former Kiwi allrounder Scott Styris over Mumbai’s defeat against RCB.
“Beat CSK dressed as Pune” – McClenaghan has slammed Styris
Earlier, in the season Mumbai lost their first game against RCB and continued their losing streak. Since 2012 MI has failed to win the first game of the tournament and noting the same McClenaghan said, “Positive Note. @mipaltan has never won a championship after winning the first game. Second Positive in general. How good is it to see games being played on Home grounds? Love it @IPL is back!”
Former Chennai Super Kings cricketer Scott Styris took a cheeky dig at the pacer and the Mumbai Indians. He quoted his Tweet and said, “Another positive noteโฆ Mumbai also finished last when they didnโt win their first match. McClenaghan came up with a special message and said, “On another positive note โ on two occasions Mumbai beat CSK in the final and on a 3rd occasion beat CSK dressed as Pune.”
Here is how fans react to McClenaghan’s Tweet:
