Watch : Virat Kohli imitates Faf du Plessis with his batting stance during RCB training

Faf du Plessis’ ongoing injury prevents him from playing, therefore Virat Kohli is once again in charge of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Faf had a rib injury during RCB’s loss to Chennai Super Kings (CSK), therefore Kohli took over as captain for the team’s subsequent victories over Punjab Kings (PBKS) as well as Rajasthan Royals (RR).

The Bengaluru-based team has utilised Faf as an impact sub as he has continued to bat. For their last match versus Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at their home ground M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, Kohli served as the team’s captain, with Faf continuing in the position he held for the previous contests

Kohli and his hilarious mimicry at its best:

Before the game began, Kohli was at his funniest when the RCB stand-in captain was seen on camera mimicking the batting stance of the actual captain Faf. Fans were left speechless by the pre-match video, which instantly went viral on social media. So when Kohli and Faf came out for a hit side-by-side on Friday at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium, there was a lot of enthusiasm in the crowd. Fans were amused by Kohli’s humorous impersonation of Faf’s batting stance. As a result, the backlift was overdone like Faf, which made fans laugh a little.

Faf will probably be ready to play and take the team’s lead once more in the upcoming match, according to Kohli, who gave important updates during the toss. “Decided to bowl first. No brainer. Evening game at Chinnaswamy, we’ve chased well here. It was unexpected but nothing I’m not used to (stand-in captaincy). It’s been fun so far because of the way the team has been playing. Faf will be playing the impact role again. Hopefully he’ll be back leading from the next game. Looks like a great pitch, the usual Chinnaswamy pitch that we expect.”

Royal Challenger Bangalore will be seen next in action again on May 1 against the Lucknow Super Giants in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League 2023 and it will be interesting to see who will be captaining the RCB side.
