‘Jung abhi baaki hai mere dost’ – Fans react as Virat Kohli and Naveen Ul-Haq post cryptic stories on Instagram after heated altercation on the field

Following the Indian Premier League match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants on Monday, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir got into an argument. Due to the altercation, the Indian Premier League Code of Conduct was broken, and both cricketing legends received 100% fines on their individual match fees. Tuesday morning, Kohli posted a mysterious message on Instagram that appeared to be in response to the rumours that have been spreading online about the on-field events.

The former opener, Gautam Gambhir who is now a member of the LSG support team and the Indian batting master added an additional episode to their longstanding rivalry by trading words during what appeared to be a heated debate. Amit Mishra, Faf du Plessis, as well as LSG assistant coach Vijay Dahiya had to separate the two. Kohli was also seen talking to LSG skipper KL Rahul after the altercation.

With Kohli scoring a crucial 31 runs, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated their opponent by 18 runs. It appears that the argument was started by Kohli’s brief exchange with LSG opener Kyle Mayers. The LSG players along with the staff continually stopped Gambhir from storming at Kohli despite the fact that he appeared to be the more agitated of the two. The two shook hands and then exchanged this.

At home, the Lucknow Super Giants’ dismal streak continued as they failed to pursue 127. After a disastrous start, Lucknow lost its top five batsmen in seven overs. Despite some effort from Krishnappa Gowtham, LSG were dismissed for 108 within 19.5 overs. Gambhir made the use of the ‘shut up’ sign to the Bengaluru crowd during the most recent IPL 2023 match between LSG and RCB.
