Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans faced off each other, once again, this season, as the home side Rajasthan were looking to do a double over the defending champions. Rajasthan Royals won the toss and chose to bat first.

A 21-ball-36-run partnership involving Yashasvi Jaiswal as well as Sanju Samson for the second wicket was the highlight of Rajasthan Royals’ innings. Gill was removed with a good ball from Chahal but apart from that there was no pressure that the Gujarat batting felt while chasing the total.

In just 13.5 overs, Gujarat Titans completed a straightforward 9-wicket victory. The defending champions have pulled ahead of the second-place Lucknow Super Giants by three points, thanks to a commanding performance with both the bat and the ball.

Rajasthan Royals, who have lost four of their previous five games, have become an inconsistent team and with no fruitful conclusion. Even though they are still in fourth place on the points table, their net run rate has decreased more than the defeat.
