‘Rubber ki tarah kheech diya iss topic ko’ – Fans react as Naveen-ul-Haq says he doesn’t sledge someone upfront

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli made a lot of headlines because of his non-cricketing reason when he was involved in a heated argument with an Afghanistan speedster Naveen-ul-Haq who is currently playing for Lucknow Supergiants in the Indian Premier League. Both clashed against each other after the match between LSG and Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1 and continued the dispute on social media as well.

Meanwhile, LSG posted a video on their official Twitter account where LSG fast bowlers Avesh Khan and Naveen having fun time with each other. Both could be seen asking questions to each other, however, Avesh asked Naveen about his favorite sledge on the cricket field which is done by him or someone else, to which, Naveen replied, “I don’t sledge someone upfront, it’s not my habit.”

Following their furious exchange, Kohli and LSG coach Gautam Gambhir got into another heated argument. Fans were reminded of the 2013 brawl between two Indian legends by this. Naveen was charged 50% of his match fee, while both Kohli and Gambhir were fined 100% of their match fees.

Who will qualify for the playoffs, RCB or LSG?

Speaking of LSG’s performance in the competition thus far, they got off to a good start, maintaining their positions in the top 4, but they are now ranked fifth with 11 points after 11 games. They already took a significant hit when their normal captain KL Rahul got hurt while playing in the same game against RCB, and they can no longer afford any more defeats if they want to make the playoffs.

While LSG is now in sixth place in the points table with 10 points after 11 games, RCB has had an up-and-down competition thus far due to their inability to regularly win matches. They must win each of their final three games, and in doing so, they will also have to rely on the outcomes of the games of the other teams. It is unlikely that LSG and RCB will face off in the playoffs, though.
