‘Itna jhooth toh mat bol, paap hojayega’ – Fans react to Naveen Ul-Haq’s statement that he doesn’t sledge ‘upfront’ on-field
Naveen-ul-Haq, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fast bowler, garnered attention for his altercation with Virat Kohli earlier in the month on the pitch. Since then, both players and LSG coach Gautam Gambhir have sent mysterious messages through their social media accounts, keeping the followers guessing. Currently, Naveen is seen speaking with colleague Avesh Khan about sledging in a video that Lucknow Super Giants recently released. Even the tweet LSG released to go along with the video seemed to be making fun of that iconic episode.
Naveen Ul-Haq responded to Avesh Khan’s question of which was the best sledge he has used or has been used on him. “I don’t sledge someone upfront. It’s not my habit. There was an incident from a first-class game. I was on the non-striker’s end and the batter who was on strike got sledged. The fielder on the silly point was newly married and he said, ‘It’s the last wicket, let’s finish this quickly, I need to go home and finish some work, I just got married yesterday.”
Avesh Khan tried to be cheeky during the conversation and asked “This was the funny incident. Tell us about the serious one” and Naveen who had a serious look on his face responded “There haven’t been any serious ones.”
Naveen released his enigmatic Instagram story a few days ago without mentioning Kohli. Just before MI were set to overcome RCB, he shared another Instagram story with the phrase “Sweet mangoes” and one of the photographs of him eating mangoes. This was done particularly soon after Kohli was dismissed for 1 off 4.
It all began with the infamous altercation between Gambhir and Kohli of the RCB during their match in Lucknow on May 3. Kohli as well as Naveen needed to be separated following RCB’s victory in an emotional match because they got into an argument while exchanging handshakes. Before Kohli shook Naveen’s hand off, the RCB batter gave it a firm shake and then murmured something.

Let's not give it much air for the incident that happened. Their haters are just adding fuel to the controversy. Let karma handle everything.

But you have a good character of giving back. Cricket needs more characters like you.
