Mumbai Indians (MI) bowler Arjun Tendulkar earned his debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He had a good outing, and after two overs in the next game, he finished with respectable figures of 1/17. Arjun took his first IPL wicket against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), outdueling Bhuvneshwar Kumar and also defended 21 runs in the final over. With everyone taking notice of him, including Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Sunil Gavaskar, Brett Lee, and many more, the wickets propelled him to fame. 

But in the following match against Punjab Kings, Arjun was crushed for 48 runs, giving up 31 in one over. Many were forced to turn around and believe Arjun was not ready yet as a result. He had his first opportunity to bat in his brief IPL career against the Titans, where he casually smoked a six before being benched.

After getting bit by a dog prior to Tuesday’s Indian Premier League 2023 match between the Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium, Arjun Tendulkar’s comeback to the Mumbai Indians Playing XI is likely to be further postponed. 

Arjun Tendulkar, who last competed for MI versus Gujarat Titans on April 25 at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, is set to miss tonight’s match after admitting to the strange occurrence in a video published by LSG on their Twitter account. The location of Arjun’s brief escapade is still unknown to the public and more details might follow soon.

In his four IPL 2023 games for MI, Arjun took up three wickets, with his best being 1/9 versus the Titans. He was, however, benched after only four games after being dropped out of MI’s starting lineup in favour of Akash Madhwal as well as Kumar Kartikeya. Prior to this unexpected incident, Arjun’s chances of rejoining the XI looked good despite Tilak Varma’s injury.

MI is presently ranked third on the overall table with 14 after bouncing back strongly in the second phase of the competition. They are followed by LSG on 13, and a victory tonight for either team promises to intensify the chaos in the middle of the card.
