‘CSK playoffs mein aa gaye’ – Fans react as MS Dhoni’s men enter into playoffs for 12th time in IPL history by beating DC

Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals locked horns with each other at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. CSK won the toss and opted to bat first. The opening partnership blossomed for them in this game. Ruturaj Gaikwad made a brilliant 79 off 50 balls with three fours and seven sixes. Devon Conway played a fantastic knock of 87 off 52 balls with 11 fours and three sixes. The duo made batting look so easy and put CSK on track for a huge total,

The opening combination along with the right left combination has worked wonders for CSK this season. Gaikwad was caught by Rilee Rossouw off Chetan Sakaria. Conway was caught by Aman Hakim Khan off Nortje. Then Shivam Dube came to the party and added to the fireworks. The Southpaw made a quickfire 22 off 9 balls with three sixes. He was caught by Lalit Yadav off Khaleel Ahmed.

Deepak Chahar picked up a three wicket haul for Chennai Super Kings

Ravindra Jadeja gave the perfect finishing touch for CSK as he blazed away to an unbeaten 20 off 7 balls with three fours and one six. All the DC bowlers were put under pressure and blown to smithereens. Khaleel Ahmed and Anrich Nortje went for 45 and 43 runs respectively in their four over spells. They managed to pick up a wicket each. CSK finished on a massive total of 233-3 in their 20 overs. It was a sumptuous batting display.

In the second innings, the DC batters were not up to the mark with the bat. The folded like a pack of cards. DC skipper David Warner was the only one who showed some resistance in the chase. The Australian made a cracking 86 off 58 balls with seven fours and five sixes. Warner was the lone ranger for his side even as wickets were falling around him.

Deepak Chahar picked up 3-22 in his four over spell. The Sri Lankan duo of Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana picked up two wickets apiece. Tushar Deshpande also had a good spell with the ball as he took 1-26 in his four overs. CSK won by 77 runs and are through to playoffs of IPL 2023.
