‘Bhai itna bhi kya dar’ – Fans react as Dwayne Bravo confesses he doesn’t want MI in IPL 2023 final against CSK

The four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have already booked their spot for the final of IPL 2023 at the Narendra Modi in Ahmedabad on May 28th. They defeated the defending champions and the table topper of the league stage, Gujarat Titans (GT) by 15 runs in Qualifier 1 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday.

While on Wednesday, the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) registered a huge victory against Lucknow Super Giants at they defeated them by 81 runs in the Eliminator at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. MI will now face GT in the second Qualifier in Ahmedabad. The winner will lock horns with CSK in the title clash on Sunday.

I am scared of Mumbai: DJ Bravo

However, CSK’s bowling coach Dwayne Bravo jokingly said that he don’t want his team to face MI in the finals. After CSK’s win over GT, Bravo confessed that he is scared of MI and don’t want his team to face them in the title clash.

“No, I am scared of Mumbai (laughs). We don’t see it like that. All three other teams are dangerous teams. They are quality teams,” Bravo told Star Sports

“Yeah, I mean, honestly, my personal feeling, I don’t want Mumbai. My friend Pollard knows that. But, jokes aside, all the best to the other teams. We are looking forward to whoever we are going to face. I think we have got it,” the former cricketer further added.

Even though the CSK bowling coach made this comment jovially, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that MI have dominated CSK in IPL final throughout the years. Both teams have met four times in the final in 2010, 2013, 2015, and 2019. CSK first defeated MI in the 2010 final to clinch their first IPL title.

On the other hand, MI also got their maiden title by defeating CSK in the 2013 final. After that, MI always had the upper hand against CSK as they went on to defeat them a couple of times in the finals in 2015 and then in 2019. However, MI’s final spot hasn’t been confirmed yet as they first have to face GT in their upcoming clash on Friday.
