India vs Australia 2023
‘Aakhein taras gayi thi yeh dekhne ko’ – Virat Kohli scores Test century after 3 years against Australia in 4th BGT Test
India is playing the fourth and final Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Ahmedabad. For the third time in the series, the visitors won the toss and elected to bat first. The Aussies made no changes to their playing XI from the third Test, while the hosts brought in Mohammad Shami in place of Mohammad Siraj, who has not performed that well in this series.
Batting first, the Steve Smith-led side amassed 480 runs in the first innings. For the team, the likes of Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green scored a century each. Also, notable contributions from the likes of Nathan Lyon and Todd Murphy helped the team reach such a competitive total.
For the hosts, the pick of the bowlers was veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who snapped six wickets in his spell of 47.2 overs. He conceded only 91 runs in his spell and bowled 15 maiden overs. Shami grabbed two wickets and one wicket each was snapped by the left-arm spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel.
