‘Ab kya natakbaji karra re shoaib’ – Fans troll Shoaib Akhtar as the former cricketer is set to make his OTT debut
Shoaib Akhtar, a former cricketer for Pakistan, is the most recent cricketer to sign a contract with Urduflix, Pakistan’s first Urdu OTT platform. The 47-year-old shared the good news with his followers on social media on Wednesday. Shoaib, known for his quick bowling and the nickname “Rawalpindi Express,” was overjoyed to declare that he was prepared to make his OTT debut.
The former speedster captioned the Instagram post, “I am ready for my OTT debut. Are you??”When it came to the production of his biopic “Rawalpindi Express,” Akhtar clearly agreed against it owing to personal issues.
The former cricketer had a career that included 444 international wickets and 224 international games played. At the 2003 World Cup match versus England, Akhtar bowled the ball with the fastest speed, 100.2 KMH.
A movie about the renowned bowler Shoaib Akhtar called Rawalpindi Express is no longer in the making. The former cricketer announced on Twitter on Saturday that he has formally canceled the rights to his life’s tale and separated himself from the “dream project.”

Definitely, it was a dream project and I tried a lot to prevent: Shoiab Akhtar
He cited “failure to resolve disagreements” and “constant contractual violations” as reasons for his sudden change of heart. “Very sadly, I would like to inform all of you that after careful consideration of months, I have decided to disassociate myself from the film Rawalpindi Express and its makers by terminating the agreement through my management and legal team,” he stated in the micro-blogging site.
He stated that despite his best efforts to remain committed, the project simply didn’t go as planned. “Definitely, it was a dream project and I tried a lot to prevent [this] and stay in the boat but unfortunately, things were not going well,” added Shoaib. “Failure to resolve disagreements amicably and constant contractual violations finally resulted in us to cut ties with them,” he added.
Umair Jaswal, a musician and actor, had also declared in November that he was joining the picture to play Pakistan seamer’s role, but shortly thereafter, he too made the announcement that he would no longer be working on it. This month, he announced on Instagram that he will not be performing the role of the former cricketer for “artistic and personal reasons.”
