‘Ab Laut Aao Rishabh bhai’ – Fans react as Rishabh Pant posts story of watching World Test Championship 2023 Final

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been out of cricket action ever since his horrifying road accident in December last year. Fans have been eagerly monitoring his recovery and waiting for him to get fit to once again play for India.

In the meantime, the Indian team is busy with the World Test Championship Final against Australia at the Kennington Oval in London. Pant could not participate in the crucial match as he has been out of the Indian team for a while now.

The 25-year-old, however, has been following the match and hoping for India to win. He posted a story on his Instagram handle while watching India take on the Kangaroos. He added the “fingers crossed” emoji and a heart emoji in his story.

Here is Rishabh Pant’s story

As for the match, Indian captain Sharma made the decision to bowl first after winning the toss, aiming to capitalize on the overcast conditions on Day 1. Travis Head (163) assumed responsibility for Australia’s quick scoring in the fourth wicket partnership, with Steve Smith (121) offering valuable support. Head, a left-handed batsman, achieved a swift century, scoring an abundance of boundaries. Smith also fought hard and reached his century. Together, their partnership accumulated a total of 285 runs.

On Day 2, India displayed some clever tactics. They disrupted the opposition batsmen with well-executed short balls, which proved fruitful as they claimed wickets at regular intervals. While Alex Carey scored 48 runs, Indian bowlers consistently got the breakthroughs.

Among the bowlers for the Indian team, Mohammed Siraj stood out with his four-wicket spell in the first innings. Additionally, Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur both secured two wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja took one. Unfortunately, Umesh Yadav struggled to make an impact and remained wicketless.

After conceding 469 runs in the first innings, India sought a strong commencement to their batting innings. Rohit and Shubman Gill got some quick runs, playing a series of impressive boundaries in the early stages. Unfortunately, their partnership was short-lived as both openers were dismissed in consecutive overs, accumulating a mere total of 30 runs. Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli also lost their wickets in no time.
