‘Abhi bhi stadium main he hain dono’ – Fans react to Arjun Tendulkar and Prithvi Shaw’s viral image from 2011 World Cup final

A photo of Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun and Indian opener Prithvi Shaw viewing the game live from the stadium more than ten years after India’s historic victory at the 2011 50-50 Cricket World Cup has gone viral online. In the image, Shaw was seen sitting next to Arjun and observing the game. Shaw and Arjun appeared immersed in the game as they shared a video feed of the game at Wankhede Stadium.

Shaw disclosed that he witnessed the World Cup final in 2011 with Arjun, Tendulkar’s daughter Sara, and Tendulkar’s wife Anjali after the photo first went viral on social media last year.

Shaw had revealed to the media that he witnessed the action next to the balcony where the players were sitting with Arjun, Sara, and Anjali. Arjun and Shaw later played senior cricket for the Mumbai Ranji squad together. Shaw also had the chance to represent India at both the U-19 and senior levels.

The Indian U-19 team that won the 2018 World Cup included Shaw. He led the team as a skipper, was later acquired by Delhi in the Indian Premier League, and even participated in a few international games for India. However, due to the level of rivalry within the club, Prithvi was unable to solidify his position.

With regards to Shaw, the opener is currently unpopular to be Team India’s opener due to his subpar performance in the international arena. He is presently engaged in the Indian T20 League competition for Delhi, where he has scored only 12 runs in the team’s opening game against the Lucknow franchise.

Arjun, on the contrary, is a member of the Indian T20 League’s Mumbai team. He hasn’t participated in a single contest for the team. The five-time winners purchased Arjun in the Indian T20 League 2022 mega auction for Rs. 40 lakhs. Arjun plays for Goa’s state team but has also represented Mumbai at the highest level.
