‘Wanting to win games and win World Cup……’ – Adam Zampa makes audacious claim ahead of ODI World Cup 2023 final vs India

The five-time world champions Australia are gearing up to win the sixth title of the ODI World Cup as they are all set to lock horns against unbeaten India on November 19 at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. Ahead of the game, Australia star cricketer Adam Zampa has opened up about his emotions for playing for his national side at the highest level.

Notably, Zampa was going through a lean patch at the start of the tournament; however, he bounced back and is currently in the race for the leading wicket-taker in the tournament owing to his flabbergasting performances in the field. The leg-spinner reveals how he takes some critics in positive ways and aims to prove them wrong by working hard and correcting all those mistakes. In addition, the 31-year-old cricketer opened up about how determined he is to win the games for the Aussies.

“Like if someone thinks I’m not up for it, or someone says something about me that I disagree with, I’ll do whatever I can to try and prove them wrong. Then there is the stubbornness in wanting my spot and wanting to win games for Australia, naturally being really competitive and playing with pride,” Adam Zampa said on Sydney Morning Herald.

Pride in my performance and in playing for Australia and wanting to win game: Adam Zampa

The South Wales-born cricketer feels proud to represent his side at its peak level. Moreover, the right-arm spinner talks about his form in T20I and 50 overs of the game as compared to the red ball format.

“Pride in my performance and in playing for Australia and wanting to win games and win World Cups. There’s a will that’s been around for a long time. I was always better at T20 and as a white-ball bowler generally. My List A [one-day] stuff was always really good for South Australia, and even when I was younger with NSW. Naturally, I was just better at it,” he added further.
