The Men in Green had a terrific start in the Asia Cup as they defeated Nepal in their opening match on August 30 in Multan. Notably, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam hammered 151 runs from 131 balls, featuring 14 boundaries and four sixes, to guide his side to a comprehensive 238-run victory against Nepal on Wednesday. Meanwhile, after an emphatic win, the 28-year-old skipper showered accolades on India’s stalwart Virat Kohli.

Notably, Babar Azam’s comments came after the former India skipper praised him in 2022. In addition, the right-handed batter says it was a very proud moment for him when India’s star batter praised him. Moreover, the dashing batter feels Virat Kohli’s comments gave him great confidence.

“It feels very good when someone passes comments like that about you. Virat Kohli’s comments about me, that was a very proud moment for me and it felt very good. Some things and some praises give you confidence,” Babar told Star Sports in a video, a clip of which was released on Thursday.

Moreover, the right-handed batter also shared that Virat Kohli explained to him a ton of things in the last ODI World Cup.

“I went to meet him during the 2019 World Cup. He was at his peak then and is there now as well. I wanted to take (learn) something from him. I got to learn a lot. I asked him some questions which I needed answers to and he explained everything very nicely,” he added further.
