‘Aisa ek job main bhi deserve karta hoon’ – Twitter reacts as ‘Rs 16 Crore’ Ben Stokes leaves for England after playing just 2 matches for CSK in IPL 2023
At the IPL 2023 auction, the Chennai Super Kings made headlines by acquiring the services of the renowned all-rounder Ben Stokes. However, the high hopes surrounding his inclusion were quickly dashed as he failed to deliver for the franchise. Stokes could only feature in two games throughout the season, registering a meager total of 15 runs in two innings and conceding 18 runs in the solitary over he bowled. Disappointingly, his impact on the team was limited, and he spent the majority of the season on the sidelines.
Despite his lackluster performance for the Chennai Super Kings, Ben Stokes has now returned to England to fulfill his national duties. As the red-ball skipper, Stokes is set to lead England in a one-off Test match against Ireland, commencing on June 1. This encounter will serve as a warm-up before the highly anticipated Ashes series.
Acknowledging his departure, the Chennai Super Kings shared an update on their social media platforms. They bid farewell to Stokes and expressed their support for him in his international endeavors. The franchise, known for their enthusiastic fan base, promised to continue “whistling” for Stokes until his return.
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings are preparing for their crucial Qualifier 1 match against the Gujarat Titans at their home ground, the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, on May 23. Under the captaincy of the iconic MS Dhoni, the team has found a winning combination and has stuck with it for the past four games. With the return of fit-again Deepak Chahar, the team has maintained a consistent lineup.
As the IPL season progresses, Chennai Super Kings will rely on their current squad and the proven leadership of MS Dhoni to guide them to further success. While the absence of Ben Stokes may not significantly affect their playing combination, the team will undoubtedly miss his presence and potential contributions.
As for Stokes, he will now shift his focus to international cricket and the responsibilities of leading England. With the Ashes on the horizon and the ODI World Cup defending champions, England will count on his experience and skills to spearhead their campaign in these prestigious events.

I have been a RR follower from few seasons back of which Stokes has been part of, everytime I see this guy leaving earlier irrespective of if his team qualifies or not. Doesn't give his 100% purely plays for money and enjoys his vacation in India..
