Star England pacer Jofra Archer has joined the Mumbai camp ahead of the 16th season of the Indian T20 League. The pacer donned the Blue and Gold jersey as he reached Mumbai on Sunday and will start practice with the team on Monday. Notably, in absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Archer will be playing a key role for the five-time champions in the cash-rich league.

Archer, who missed last season due to an injury, will be making his comeback in the league. Earlier he used to play for the Rajasthan franchise before getting injured. However, in the mega auction of 2022, Mumbai bought him for a whooping sum of INR 8 crore. Meanwhile, as Archer joined Mumbai’s camp, his fashion sense is attracting the eyes of fans. He came with dazzling dreadlocks, which attracted netizens.

Archer made his T20 comeback for MI Cape Town during the inaugural season of SA T20. Archer played six matches for Cape Town in the season and clinched 10 wickets at an impressive economy rate. Earlier, after proving his match fitness, Archer also made it into the national side and played an ODI series against South Africa in January-February. He also toured Bangladesh before joining Mumbai for the ITL. During England’s tour of Bangladesh, Archer picked up 4 wickets in the T20I series and 5 wickets in 2 matches in the ODIs.

Jofra Archer will lead Mumbai’s bowling attack 

In absence of pacers like Jasprit Bumrah and Jhye Richardson, Mumbai will look up to English speedster Jofra Archer to lead the bowling department. Mumbai will be heavily dependent on him to get quick and early breakthroughs during the 16th season of the Indian T20 League.

Notably, Archer has played 35 matches in Indian T20 League and has picked up 46 wickets. Mumbai will be hoping that the star pacer can add to his tally at a good pace in the tournament to help Mumbai sail ahead. Notably, Rohit Sharma and co. will play their first game against Faf du Plessis-led Bangalore on April 2. Meanwhile, fans react to Jofra Archer’s amazing hairstyle.
