Amid the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Mumbai Indians have signed Chris Jordan for the remainder of the season. In the ongoing tournament, MI have struggled a lot with its bowling lineup in the 16th edition of the tournament. The team has missed Jasprit Bumrah, Jhye Richardson, and Jofra Archer in the tournament.

Meanwhile, according to recent news reports the five-time champions have roped in Jordan as a replacement player for the remainder of the cash-rich league. Jordan has a vast experience in T20 Cricket as he has represented Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad in different editions of the league. He has clinched 27 wickets in 28 innings with a bowling average of 30.85 and an economy of 9.32 in IPL history.

The 34-year-old pacer went unsold in the player’s auction last year. He had a base price of INR 2 Crore. Jordan has some great recent T20 experience, having played for eventual champions Gulf Giants in the ILT20 tournament in February. He finished the competition as the tournament’s best wicket-taker, with 20 wickets in ten innings at an average of 13.80. Last month, he also played three Twenty20 Internationals against Bangladesh.

Notably, MI has won three out of seven games in the ongoing Indian Premier League. They are currently in 9th place on the points table and will be keen to improve their stats. On the other hand, RR will be eyeing the top spot as they have won five out of eight games this year.
