WATCH: Former Pakistan skippers Babar Azam & Sarfaraz Ahmed enjoy Qawwali night at Imam-ul-Haq’s wedding
Former Pakistan skippers Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and a plethora of Pakistan’s team players were spotted on Qawwali night on November 23. Notably, the Pakistani cricket players were seen having an excellent time at the celebration of the marriage of Pakistan’s opener, Iman-ul-Haq. The clip has been widely shared on social media, with mixed reactions from the fans. In a video, Sarfaraz was singing the songs with complete enthusiasm while Babar was using his smartphone.
However, Pakistani batter Sarfaraz Ahmed even tried his hand at singing the song when the singers performed it live on stage. Notably, the 2017 Champions Trophy-winning skipper joined the singers in singing the chorus of the song “Mera piya ghar aaya.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s recent games and stint have not been particularly pleasant. Notably, the Men in Green had a great start in the group stage of the Asia Cup 2023; however, Team India and Sri Lanka thrashed them, which stopped them from going further in the final game. In addition, their bowling attack turned when they lost Naseem Shah to an injury in the Continental Cup.
Babar Azam had to step down from his captaincy after receiving backlash for ODI World Cup 2023
Speaking about their journey in the ODI World Cup 2023, Babar Azam and Co. had a great start as they thrashed the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in their first two games. However, they suffered four straight losses against hosts India, South Africa, Afghanistan, and Australia, which made it more difficult for them to advance to the tournament’s knockout stage. In addition, they won the game against New Zealand owing to rain in the game.
However, the Men in Green needed to win the match against England by a massive margin in their last clash, but they lost the game over it, which knocked them out. Notably, Babar Azam had to step down from his position as captain after receiving backlash for his leadership during the tournament. Meanwhile, Shan Masood and Shaheen Shah Afridi have replaced him.
