‘Bhai aate daal pyaz ki zaroorat ho tho bata dena’ – Fans react to bomb blast outside Quetta stadium during PSL exhibition match

The Quetta Gladiators versus Peshawar Zalmi exhibition match in Pakistan Super League (PSL) resumed after being temporarily stopped, owing to a suspected bomb attack at Musa Chowk in Quetta. According to a number of sources, crowd mishandling at the Bugti Stadium also contributed to the exhibition game’s abrupt suspension. Online videos show a dark smoke plume rising outside the stadium. It should be highlighted that some cunning individuals started the fire.

The Quetta blast happened close to Police Line, which is located about 4 kilometers from Bugti Stadium. The explosion was indeed a very terrible occurrence, especially because Quetta’s PSL Exhibition Match was taking place at the time.

According to emergency authorities, there was an explosion on Sunday in the Quetta Police Lines area that injured at least five people. And according to Dawn.com, Edhi employee Zeeshan Ahmed, who is in charge of the rescue operation on the scene, has evacuated the injured persons to the Civil Hospital in Quetta.

Drone cameras inside and around the stadium has been prohibited by the local district authority

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an illegal organization, claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement released on Sunday. The explosive was thought to be intended for security officers. The attack, a horrific suicide bombing that left over 80 people dead, mostly police officers, in the Peshawar Police Lines area, happened just days before to the blast.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 exhibition game attracted a huge crowd to Bugti Stadium to watch their star players like Babar Azam, Shahid Afridi, and Sarfraz Ahmed compete.

According to PCB authorities, more than 13,000 tickets were sold for the exhibition game, according to Pakistan’s Geo News.

According to the reports, the stadium and its surroundings were subject to strict security measures, with more than 4,000 police officers and members of the Frontier Corps manning the gates.

The usage of drone cameras inside and around the stadium has been prohibited by the local district authority. Additionally, it was forbidden for spectators to enter the stadium with any flag other than the Pakistani flag.
