IPL 2024
‘Bheek mangne ka bhi ek tarika hota hai’ – Fans troll Hassan Ali as he expresses his desire to play in IPL
Pakistani pace bowler Hassan Ali expresses his desire to play in the IPL. The 29-year-old made these comments while he was speaking to a TV channel in Pakistan. Since 2008 no player from Pakistan has played in the IPL.
Hassan Ali is set to tour Australia as he was named in the three-match test series squad. The first test is set to be played on the 14th of December in Perth followed by matches in Melbourne and Sydney.
Pakistan’s cricket team is set for a new regime after Babar Azam stepped down as the skipper across all formats. Shan Masood has been named as the test skipper while Shaheen Shah Afridi will be leading the T20 side.
‘One of the biggest leagues’ – Hasan Ali expresses desire to play the IPL
Hassan Ali was recently speaking to a Pakistani TV Channel when he said he wanted to play the IPL. The 29-year-old said “Every player wants to play the IPL and it is my wish to play if there is an opportunity in the future”
Pakistani players like Shoaib Akhtar, Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul, Mohammed Asif, Salman Butt, and many more players had played in the first season of IPL in 2008. Ever since 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Pakistani players have been banned from taking part in the league.
Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis at one point were associated with a few teams as the bowling coach. Ramiz Raja, the former Pakistan skipper and PCB chief was a noted voice in the commentary booth during various IPL seasons.
This is not the first time any Pakistan player has expressed his desire to play in the IPL. Azhar Mahmood the former Pakistani all-rounder played a few seasons of IPL but that was allowed since he is a British citizen.
It is widely speculated that Mohammad Amir could also join the IPL bandwagon soon. The former Pakistani pacer is set to receive his UK citizenship soon enabling him to play in the league. Ali Khan was another Pakistan born player who was signed by KKR since he is an American resident. The right-arm pacer though couldn’t make his debut as he got injured before the season could begin.
