‘Cheetah ki Chal aur Dhoni ki stumping pe shaq nhi krte’ – Fans left in awe as MS Dhoni dismisses Shubman Gill with lightning quick stumping

In the final of the Indian Premier League 2023, Chennai Super Kings are, currently, taking on Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After winning the toss in a crucial match, CSK skipper MS Dhoni opted to bowl first.

However, his decision backfired as GT posted a massive total of 214 runs in 20 overs. GT batter, Sai Sudarshan scored a magnificent half-century to lead his team to a comfortable position.

Earlier, GT opener Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha added 67 runs for the first wicket. Gill, in his brief innings, scored 39 runs off 20 balls with the help of seven boundaries. He was stumped by MS Dhoni off Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling.

Dhoni’s fast and perfect stumping stunned Gill, who was looking dangerous after getting two lifelines. Meanwhile, according to Star Sports, Dhoni’s reaction time was just 0.1 seconds.

After Gill’s departure, Sai Sudarshan joined Saha in the middle. Saha, in his innings, scored 54 runs off 39 balls with the help of five boundaries and a six. Both batters added 64 runs for the second wicket. After his departure, Hardik Pandya, along with Sudarshan, added 81 runs for the third wicket. Sudarshan scored 96 runs off 47 balls with the help of eight boundaries and six maximums.

Hardik Pandya’s Cameo gave the finishing touch to GT’s innings

In the end, Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya scored unbeaten 21 runs off 12 balls with the help of two sixes. With this amazing batting performance, Gujarat Titans posted a competitive total of 214/4 in 20 overs. This is the highest total by a team in IPL finals as the previous record was held by Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2016.

For Chennai Super Kings, Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirna clinched two wickets in his four overs quota. He finished with figures of 4-0-44-2. Apart from him, Ravindra Jadeja and Deepak Chahar also clinched a wicket each. To win their fifth IPL title, Chennai Super Kings need to chase a massive total and the team would expect their batters to do the job as well.
