‘CSK ke fans hai, team ke liye kisi hadd tak bhi jaa sakte hain’ – Fans react as travelling CSK fans sleep at Ahmedabad Railway Station ahead of rescheduled IPL 2023 final
The much-awaited Indian Premier League(IPL) final encounter had been postponed by one day due to an abrupt change in the weather in Ahmedabad. Fans have been reassured by the Indian Cricket Board that their tickets from Sunday’s game will still be good for the match’s rescheduled conclusion on Monday. But devoted cricket fans are now having to deal with the effects of this unanticipated weather change.
On Sunday, excited spectators came to watch at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in anticipation of the highly anticipated match between Chennai Super Kings and the Gujarat Titans. Many CSK fans showed up in hopes of seeing the renowned cricketer MS Dhoni play his final game. Unfortunately, the rain gods ruined not only the travel plans of these devoted travelling fans but also the flow of the opposing teams.
While some fans failed to make travel or lodging arrangements, others made flight reservations for Monday AM and inadvertently became victims of the sudden schedule change. A few supporters even turned to camping around the stadium in an effort to ensure that they wouldn’t miss the chance to see their favourite cricket players in action and fulfil their dream of being present for the grand finale.
A supporter on their official Twitter account wrote about the conditions of the CSK supporters in Ahmedabad. They wrote, “It is 3 o’clock in the night when I went to Ahmedabad railway station, I saw people wearing jersey of csk team, some were sleeping, some were awake, some people, I asked them what they are doing, they said we have come only to see MS Dhoni @IPL @ChennaiIPL #IPLFinal #Ahmedabad.”
If there is no final, the Gujarat Titans will be declared the winners because they finished first on the table with a higher points tally than the Chennai Super Kings. The Gujarat Titans won the group stage with 20 points after 14 games, finishing ahead of the Chennai Super Kings with 17 points.

Lots of CSK & cricket fans were sleeping at the railway station as the IPL final is postponed to Monday due to rain.
Feel for them, travelled to see one man, as they might have booked the tickets for returning Sunday itself and now, many are waiting for today as well. pic.twitter.com/NQATTYprTo

That's very sad to see. They all came to experience the IPL finals with full vibrancy but rain gods had other plans. Hope they do get to see a full game tonight.

So they are cricket fans that's why we need to feel? It's a daily routine for passengers on indian railway stations.

I feel bad for them, i know it was rain interrupted but imagine the players go back to their luxurious hotels. And the fans because of whom the league is successful are sleeping platforms.

Always watch it from the comfort of your home unless the match is being played in your city!
