‘It was not really good…..’ – Danielle Wyatt reveals underwhelming experience with Virat Kohli’s gifted bat
English star cricketer Danielle Wyatt speaks about the bat that Indian batter Virat Kohli gave her in one of his recent interviews. Notably, the 32-year-old cricketer received a bat from India’s batting master, Virat Kohli, during India’s 2014 England tour. Danielle Wyatt earned fame after putting the question to Virat on social media, tweeting, “Kohli, marry me!!!”
Danielle Wyatt revealed whether or not she had used the bat that Virat Kohli had given her, stating that she had only used it twice since it wasn’t great to use further. However, when asked who her idol was, she mentioned experienced British football player David Beckham. Interestingly, Virat Kohli was one of the choices as well, but she didn’t pick him.
“It [The bat gifted by Kohli] was not really good, I only used it twice. Definitely, David Beckham, he’s always been my idol growing up,” Danielle Wyatt said during a question-and-answer session with The Quint.
Meanwhile, Danielle Wyatt revealed that she loves playing against India, as she has had great success against them in the past. The star all-rounder says her favourite Indian player is Smriti Mandhana, and she loves playing with her, especially in the Hundred tournament. Moreover, the 32-year-old cricketer also talks about India’s batting stars’ strengths and weaknesses and how they complement each other.

“Love playing India against because I’ve had success against them in the past. Smriti Mandhana, I love batting with her in The Hundred. We bat well together. She has strengths and weaknesses, so I do I have. We complement each other quite well,” she added further.
Danielle Wyatt is set to compete in the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 second campaign for UP Warriorz. However, after staying unsold for a year, the 32-year-old was purchased by the UP-based company for INR 30 lakh at the auction. Notably, the star cricketer will be looking to boost her side in the WPL 2024 campaign.
