‘The man is flying without wings’ – Fans react as David Warner slams century to silence critics and steer Australia to 210-2 at tea against Pakistan
Australia’s star cricketer, David Warner, slammed a century on Day 1 of the first match of the Test series against Pakistan in Perth. The star cricketer hammered a magnificent tonne that helped the hosts stand in the dominant position on the first day of three matches of the Test series. Australia posted a score of 210/2 before tea time and will be looking to outclass the visitors completely at the end of the day.
Speaking about the game here, Australia skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and invited the Shan Masood-led Pakistan team to field first. Notably, after being opted to bat first, the hosts had a terrific start as Australia opener Usman Khawaja also hammered 41 runs and struck the great stand with David Warner during the game. In addition, Marnus Labuschagne departed for the first 16 runs of the first Test game at Optus Stadium in Perth.
However, both sides last met during the ODI World Cup 2023, where Australia defeated Pakistan in the host country, India. Notably, the Men in Yellow were eventually the champions of the ODI World Cup 2023 after defeating hosts India. However, Australia recently lost the bilateral T20I series against India by 1-4, but they will be looking to win against Pakistan in the ongoing Test series.
