‘He’s going to have that chance….’ – David Warner names his replacement for Australia in Test cricket

Australia’s opening batter, David Warner, has named his replacement for Test cricket in the Boxing Day Test game on December 26. Notably, the southpaw accepted that it was a tough decision for him to name the opening slot owing to the magnificent and talented players in the camp. However, David Warner has named Marcus Harris to replace him from the next game onward.

The left-handed batter reveals that Harris has performed extremely well in the Test game, despite being missing in the last few games. Moreover, the Delhi Capitals batter feels Marcus Harris is in the queue to take him over. In addition, the opening batter says that the selectors need to back him, and he can do wonders if he gets the opportunity.

“It’s a tough one. It’s obviously up to the selectors. But from my position, I feel like the person who’s worked their backside off and has been there for a while in the background, I think Harry’s been that person. He’s toured, he’s going to have that chance. He scored a hundred the other day [for a Victoria XI vs the Pakistanis]. He missed out on a couple of other games but he’s always been that person who was next in line. If the selectors show faith in him, then I’m sure he’ll come out and play the way he does,” David Warner said being quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

Usman Khawaja can play as long as he wants to and feels comfortable: David Warner

Meanwhile, David Warner heaps praise on Australia’s opening batter, Usman Khawaja. In addition, Warner feels Khawaja should play as long as he feels comfortable. The southpaw also talks about Khawaja’s performance over the past 12 months and his strong mindset.

“He’s going to keep playing as long as he can and it’s a true testament to the way his mindset has been. His last 12 months have been phenomenal and he can play as long as he wants to and feels comfortable,” he added further.
