‘Roar Machaa!’- Fans react as Delhi Capitals beat UP Warriorz by 9 wickets in 4th game of WPL 2024

Delhi Capitals won the fourth game of WPL 2024 as they went on to defeat UP Warriorz by nine wickets on February 26 at M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bangalore. Speaking about the game here, it was Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning who won the toss and invited UP Warriorz to bat first in the game.

Notably, after being sent to bat first, UP Warriorz had posted 119/9 in the given 20 overs. The side had an awful start to the game as skipper Alyssa Healy departed for 13 runs while Vrinda Dinesh was out for zero runs. Following them, star batter Tahila McGrath also departed for just 1 run, while Grace Harris could only manage to get 17 runs.

However, it was Shweta Sehrawat who made 45 runs to help them post decent runs on the board.
Delhi Capitals had a great start as skipper Meg Lanning went on to hammer 51 runs from 43 balls, featuring six boundaries, and struck the great stand with Shafali Varma, who also hammered unbeaten 64 runs from 43 balls, featuring six boundaries and four sixes, to help his side chase down the total with 33 balls to spare.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning expressed his happiness after his side won the crucial encounter. The top-order batter talks about a few players who helped them win the game. In addition, the opening batter is hopeful of her team’s performance ahead of the next game.

“I thought it was an excellent performance. Kapp was incredible as she took three wickets. Radha Yadav also picked some crucial wickets. Was nice to watch Shafali bat from the other end. Nice to watch her smashing sixes from the other end. It’s more about keeping it simple, it’s about encouraging her to play to her strengths. Radha has been bowling well, she wanted to be competitive today. She had the look in her eyes,” Meg Lanning said after the win.
