‘Indian citizenship dedo isko’ – Fans react as David Warner criticizes Glenn Maxwell’s ‘horrible and dumbest idea’ for light show in between match remark

Australia have won their fifth game of the ODI World Cup 2023 as they defeated the Netherlands on October 25 at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi by a massive margin. Notably, Pat Cummins and Co. had tremendously bounced back in marquee events, and they almost sealed a spot in the semi-finals after their great performances. However, Glenn Maxwell, who set the record for the fastest century in the history of the ODI World Cup, expressed his disappointment with the light show in the stadium.

The great RCB stalwart affirms that the light show in the stadium gave him a massive headache, and it took time for his eyes to adjust. In addition, the middle-order batsman reiterated that it was the dumbest idea to have the light show during the drink breaks. The star all-rounder feels the light show idea is wonderful for the fans but horrible for the cricket players.

“I had something like that light show happen at Perth Stadium during a Big Bash game. I just felt like it gave me shocking headaches and it takes me a while for my eyes to re-adjust and I just think it’s the dumbest idea for cricketers. So I just try and cover up as much as I possibly can and ignore it but it’s a horrible, horrible idea. Great for the fans, horrible for the players,” Glenn Maxwell said.

I absolutely loved the light show, what an atmosphere: David Warner

Meanwhile, Australia’s star opening batsman, David Warner, strongly criticizes the bizarre remarks made by Glenn Maxwell. The top-order batsman took to Twitter and wrote a heartwarming note that showed his love for cricket fans. Moreover, the DC batsman says that he absolutely loves such light shows during the play. The left-handed star feels the light show is for the fans, and without fans, cricket players are nothing.

“I absolutely loved the light show, what an atmosphere. It’s all about the fans. Without you all we won’t be able to do what we love,” David Warner wrote on X.
