Rohit Sharma reacted to the team’s loss in the ODI World Cup 2023 final for the first time. the Indian ODI captain spoke to Mumbai Indians about the same and expressed his opinion on the match. Sharma revealed his thoughts and emotions soon after India’s loss in the match. The knock of Travis Head helped the visiting side to clinch the match in style.
The Indian star cricketer did everything in his might to win the match for his team but could not. Australia won the final by 6 wickets and clinched their 6th ODI World Cup title. Indian crowd was silenced by the 11 players in the middle. Speaking about the impact of the loss on himself, Sharma said that he did not know how to respond to the loss.
The 36-year-old said that his friends and family helped him to come out of the loss. “I had no idea how to come back after the final, my family & friends kept me going,” said Sharma. despite dominating the tournament till the final, India failed to win the tournament. It was Rohit’s dismissal in the match that acted as the turning point and shifted the match in favor of Australia.

‘It was tough to move on from that day’ – Rohit Sharma on losing ODI World Cup 2023 finals
Rohit added that the loss was a tough pill to swallow for him. Rohit said that it was the ultimate prize, and he could not get hold of it. The Indian batter said that it was hard for him to move on from the day India lost the final. “It was hard to digest but life needs to move on but honestly it was tough to move on from that day, it was the ultimate prize,” added Rohit.
Rohit said that he feels for the fans who supported the team throughout the tournament. In the process, Rohit appreciated every fan who supported the team and dreamed of winning the World Cup like the players themselves. “I feel for the fans, they were dreaming for the World Cup like us, I need to appreciate each & every fan who supported us,” Rohit said.
