Did Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya unfollow each other on Instagram?

The Mumbai Indians (MI) took a significant decision to remove Rohit Sharma from the captaincy position and replace him with Hardik Pandya ahead of IPL 2024. Notably, Hardik Pandya, who captained Gujarat Titans (GT) in the past two seasons of the tournament, was moved to MI owing to his successful stint with GT in IPL 2022 and IPL 2023.
However, fans of MI’s outrageous request were mixed, as some applauded the move while others slammed the team for removing Rohit Sharma as the skipper. There have been speculations that something is wrong in the Mumbai Indians’ camp following the news that first broke. Notably, rumours spreading on social media suggest that Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma have unfollowed one another on Instagram. Meanwhile, it’s in doubt, however, if the players followed or unfollowed each other most recently.
On the other hand, MI head coach Mark Boucher backed MI’s choice to give Hardik Pandya leadership responsibilities, claiming that it will unleash Rohit Sharma’s talent as a player.

Just let Rohit Sharma go out and enjoy and score some good runs: Mark Boucher

“It’s just more of a cricketing decision that was made and I do think it is going to bring the best out of Rohit as a person as a player. Just let him go out and enjoy and score some good runs. He’s been captaining for ages and he’s done really well for Mumbai Indians. Now he also leads India as well. It is that he walks into a place and there are just cameras in it and he’s so busy and he hasn’t had probably the best couple of seasons of late with the bat but he’s done well as a captain,” Mark Boucher said on the podcast.
“We believe he got some great value to add and just go out there and actually enjoy it without the hype of being a captain,” he added further.
Boucher’s response, however, was dismissed by Rohit’s wife Ritika Sajdeh.
“So many things wrong with this,” Ritika Sajdeh wrote in the comments section of the Smash Sports podcast.
