Will Great all-rounder Hardik Pandya face ban after his trade to Mumbai Indians?

The retention window for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is over, and all ten teams have released and retained players ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-auction. Notably, the trading window is open until December 12, and further trades can be made during this time. However, the most talked-about move of the previous trading season was the move of Hardik Pandya, who went from the Gujarat Titans (GT) to the Mumbai Indians (MI).

The great all-rounder was moved back to MI, where he commenced his IPL career back in 2015 for 10 lakh rupees. Notably, the GT initially retained the 30-year-old cricketer; however, they released Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for 17.5 crore INR to get Pandya back in their camp. However, Gujarat ‘s-born cricketer’s move to MI has been trouble because the player could be suspended from the IPL.

Notably, the trade window of the IPL auction allows franchises to transfer players from other franchises. After the method is completed, they will reveal a list of released and retained players. However, this was not the case with Hardik Pandya.

Ravindra Jadeja has previously been banned in 2010 for the same offences

However, India’s great all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja had previously been banned in 2010 for the same offences, which included refusing to sign a contract with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for the 2011 IPL because he was then in talks with MI. Notably, this was against the IPL’s rules and regulations; therefore, he was fined along with getting a one-year ban.
