‘He doesn’t bowl this many No Balls in IPL’ – Rohit Sharma mocked Ravindra Jadeja for bowling No Balls during match against England
Following two no-balls from the Indian spinner Ravindra Jadeja during the England innings, India captain Rohit Sharma made a playful jab at the man. Jadeja came in late in the session, so he didn’t have a great time with the ball. 33 runs were let up by the all-rounder in his four overs. This particular event happened in the 31st over when Jadeja bowled Joe Root with two no-balls. While talking between the overs, Rohit was heard commenting on Jadeja from the stump mic.
Rohit was heard saying, “Yaar, ye Jadeja IPL mein to itne No Balls nahi dalta. T20 samajh ke bowling kar, Jaddu. (Man, Jadeja doesn’t bowl this many No Balls in IPL. Think it’s a T20 game and bowl).”
Day two in Rajkot wasn’t Jadeja’s greatest day with the bat or the ball. The all-rounder was one of India’s first-day stars and finished the day undefeated at 110 at stumps. Soon after day 2 started, Jadeja lost his wicket to England’s all-rounder, Joe Root.
‘We need to exercise discipline’ – Ravichandran Ashwin on the Indian team
Ravichandran Ashwin after taking 500 wickets in Test matches, talked to the commentators after the day ended. He was quite happy about his achievement and dedicated to his father. Moreover, he also talked about how the team needs to maintain discipline to win the ongoing match.
Ashwin said, “Given us a lot to think about, we have to keep doing what we’re doing and hope that one goes to hand. The surfaces we’ve played on in this series have allowed the batters time on the first three days. Expect this pitch to get hard on Day 5. We need to exercise discipline, England has been in such positions before. I think the game is in the balance, they’re putting us under pressure but it’s important we stay composed and stay in the game.”
